EBike North ("we", "our") operates the website ebikenorth.ca. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit, and your choices. This is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.
Information we collect
Information you provide
If you email us (see our contact page), we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you and never sell it or add you to a marketing list without your consent.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and performance purposes. If we enable analytics in the future, this policy will be updated to describe it.
Cookies
This site itself sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising scripts at launch. Two exceptions to be aware of:
- Affiliate links: when you click an affiliate link (e.g. to Rize Bikes or Amazon.ca) and leave our site, the retailer's site may set its own cookies to track the referral — that's how affiliate commissions are attributed. Their privacy policies govern that tracking, not ours.
- Embedded content: if we embed third-party content (such as videos) in the future, those providers may set cookies. This policy will be updated if that happens.
Advertising
We may display advertising (such as Google AdSense) in the future. Advertising providers typically use cookies to serve and measure ads, including interest-based advertising. If and when advertising is enabled, this section will be updated with the provider's name, an opt-out link, and details. At present, no ad network code runs on this site.
How we use information
- To operate and secure the website.
- To respond to emails you send us.
- To understand aggregate readership (only if analytics are enabled in the future).
We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only if required by law.
Data retention
Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry. Server logs, if any, are retained per our hosting provider's standard policy.
Your rights
If you are in Canada, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you've provided to us by emailing contact@ebikenorth.ca. If you are in the EU/UK, GDPR rights (including objection and portability) apply to any personal data we hold about you.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and the "last updated" date above when our practices change. Material changes (such as enabling analytics or advertising) will be reflected here before they take effect.
