About EBike North
Who runs this site
EBike North is an independent, Canadian-run review site focused on one thing: helping Canadian buyers choose the right electric bike. We're riders and researchers, not a manufacturer, dealer or PR agency — we have no e-bikes to sell you directly and no brand pays us for placement or rankings.
How we research
We'll be blunt about what we do and don't do:
- We don't claim hands-on testing we haven't done. When we describe a bike, we're working from the manufacturer's published specifications, current retailer listings and publicly posted owner reviews — and we say so.
- We verify numbers before publishing. Prices and specs on our comparison pages are checked against live retailer pages, with a verification date shown on the page. Sale prices change; we tell you when a price was a sale price.
- We include the downsides. Every recommendation carries its trade-offs, including legal ones — like which motor wattages may not qualify as power-assisted bicycles in Canada.
- We update. Comparison pages are re-checked regularly because the e-bike market moves fast: models sell out, prices change and programs open and close.

EBike North is reader-supported. Here's exactly how that works:
- Some links on this site — including links to Rize Bikes and Amazon.ca — are affiliate links. They're marked with
rel="sponsored nofollow"in the page code and usually with link text like "Check current price at…". - If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same either way.
- Rize Bikes' collaborator program publishes its terms openly: a commission on e-bike sales through affiliate links with a 30-day tracking window, as stated on their program page. Program terms can change; the program page controls.
- Commissions don't buy rankings. Our picks are chosen by spec-per-dollar value, suitability for Canadian conditions and verifiability — the same picks we'd recommend if every link were non-affiliate. Where we include a product with no affiliate relationship (like the iGO Metro CX), we say so.
If you prefer not to use affiliate links, you can always search for the retailer or product name directly — we'll never know the difference, and we'll never mind.
Corrections
Specs change, sales end and we make mistakes. If you spot an error — a wrong price, a discontinued model, a regulation we've described inaccurately — please tell us and we'll fix it promptly with a dated correction note.
